September 2026 Meeting Recap
September 9, 2026, | Courtyard by Marriott, Burbank
The ASPE Los Angeles Chapter held its monthly meeting on September 9, 2026, at the Courtyard by Marriott in Burbank.
On behalf of the ASPE-LA Board of Directors, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Rich Anderson, International Code Council, Director of PMG Technical Resources, for his excellent presentation.
The presentation covered IECC service Water Heating, Distance from the hot water source to the fixture location, Recirculation requirements, Water pipe sizing, CPC alternative method for use of 3/8 piping and parallel water disruption systems. IPC section 604.10 table 604.5 and the development of the ANSI ICC 815 Standard and other related topics.

Due to the ASPE Convention & Expo being held in October, our monthly meeting has been moved from the second Wednesday to the first Wednesday of the month.
Please join us for our monthly October meeting featuring Mr. David Olds, Business Development Manager, who will present:
Special Fire Hazards Solutions
Topics include:
· Understand the important performance factors for the selection of a special hazard fire detection and suppression system.
· Identify building occupancies, uses and applications that would benefit from adding more advanced fire protection strategies.
· Describe the pros and cons of basic water, pre-action, water mist, chemical clean agent, inert gas clean agent and CO2 systems.
· Gain an understanding of where to use early-warning fire detection.
Time will be reserved at the end of the presentation for audience questions and discussion, providing an opportunity to address specific design challenges and share practical experiences.
We look forward to another informative, engaging, and interactive presentation.
ASPE Los Angeles’s Family Picnic
October 19, 2026.
Our chapter is planning a family picnic on October 19 at San Dimas Canyon Park, located at 512 Sycamore Canyon Road, San Dimas, CA 91773, Area #5.

ASPE Los Angeles and Orange County Chapters Joint Symposium
Heat Pump Water Heating Symposium
September 16, 2026, | Steven's Steak House, Commerce, CA
The ASPE Los Angeles and Orange County Chapters hosted their one‑day symposium, Heat Pump Water Heater Systems, on September 16. The event drew 91 attendees, including ASPE members, engineers, and design professionals.
The accompanying product show featured 28 exhibitor booths showcasing the latest technologies and solutions.
Don’t forget — our Los Angeles Chapter Product Show and Seminars are scheduled for next year, on the second Wednesday of August 2027. We look forward to seeing you there.
2026 ASPE Convention & Expo
October 8–14, 2026 | Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Our chapter will send nine delegates and two alternate delegates to the convention. In addition, Ms. Vivian Endriquez and Ms. Noelle Melzer will attend the Women of ASPE (WOA) Leadership Forum on Friday, October 9.
If you are planning to attend the convention, please let us know so we can meet in Oklahoma City.
